I am developing a website in a local market. In this market they have bad connections and also very expensive hosting server services. But to get in Google better ranked in their area it is benefit that we have a hosting server located in the same country. So I was thinking to host my site on server from this country, but all images (which will take most traffic and space) I would host on US server and put inside href an url of image hosted in US server. Is that ok for SEO to point href to other server?
When trying to rank in a country-specific view of Google (like Google.co.uk), I usually suggest: 1) a country coded domain (ccTLD) and 2) web hosting in that country. But in the case where that country has poor and/or expensive hosting, I would personally opt for hosting at a reliable web host in the US... especially if you have a country coded domain. Google is going to already assume based on the ccTLD domain that you want to rank in that country's view of the Google index. You can also specify this in Google's Webmaster Tools... and the tiny advantage that being hosted in that country on poor web servers gives your domain from a ranking perspecxtive will rarely outweigh having a stable, cheap hosting environment IMO. If you have a domain with a ccTLD then I'd get my hosting in the US.
It sure helps having the site hosted in same country. Now dont forget that page speed is a big factor. You may wanna do some testing. Connecting other servers may even make it slower because of additional lookups etc.
I think hosting is not a big problem for ranking purposes. You could choose to host your sites on servers based in USA. Generally speaking, they are more speedy for accessing from any places on the world if only the servers are decent enough. For ranking purpose, I think the contents and backlinks would be the top issues. Have a nice day,
But if the rest of the site is almost only text the speed will be still ok. So even if I host images on other server I will still get advatange of having site hosted on server from this country. Right?
The benefits of hosting in US will far outweigh the disadvantages of server down time, page speed slow times, etc. when you host with in your own country. FYI, you can simply offload your images to a cheap content delivery network that is already hosted in the US - take a look at site like steadyoffload.com.
Sometimes you can get traffic from images. Images rank too so I would suggest getting fast and reliable hosting if possible.
An Image hosting services allow individuals to upload images to an internet website. the image host will then store the image onto its server...& show the individuals codes....
