Host eMail somewhere for free with your own domain

    Hello people,

some years ago, Google offered GMAIL service with your own domain, rather than gmail.com. This service has been stopped (free version) and it is still available (paid version) for businesses.

So I have some domains...and I just would like to have an control panel to create mailboxes, aliases, addresses, mailing lists etc etc and a webmail interface, but I don't want to do all that on my development web server.

Any idea how should I proceed? Who is offering such a service?

We could have without the hassle of maintaning the webserver which is not as funny as running a LAMP with no email service.

    thanks

You can sign up for any free web hosting which allows to host your own domain (there is a lot of them). Simply set up your email account in the control panel. It is up to you if you will also use the web space to run your website or not.

Any shared hosting plan with 'muli-domain' capabilities will do this. They are very low cost, fully managed servers to cater for any number of email addresses, boxes and alliases etc. Even if you do not use the hosting facility that comes with them, many shared plans are that inexpensive these days it doesn't really matter.

    All the best.

Thanks for your answers but I could not solve my issue yet and I am not sure if I have explained myself properly.
My Domain Control Panel is GoDaddy and I am configuring each domain to point to the IP Address of the VPS I manage.
Each VPS has Apache, PHP, MySQL but no mail server and I simply would like to configure GoDaddy MX Records to handle email with another IP Address
This IP Address would belong to a free email hosting server where I will host the email for each Domain.

I understand the lot of Free WEB Hosting services since it is easy to support them by showing ADS on those pages.

But if this free email service would be used with POP3 or IMAP only, then there won't be possible to support it with banners and maybe that is the reason why I can't find easily what I am looking for.

To clarify my issue, lez say I am looking for "Free Webmail Service with my own domain"

Likely such a service being based on web pages would support ADS and should be easier finding it for free

I do agree with you. I need email hosting service and that is what I have been googling since the very beginning.

Now...to start with a limited thing, where can I get FREE Email Hosting Service with my own domains?

Difficult to say. Check on freewebspace.net. It seems one of the biggest forum about web hosting.

Thanks. I am doing that. Chatted with Michael from Host-ed.net. He said they offer email service only for RECEIVING EMAIL not for SENDING.
I understand the risk of spammers abusing their service but preventing mails from being sent is pretty silly. Don't you agree?

    I will contact the others.

Thanks a lot! Signed up on google apps and now trying to understand how to proceed. It is pretty rich so also complicated.

Again thanks, I will let you know if I will achieve what I am looking for.

    Again Thanks a lot jphilipson!
You hit it and now I have exactly what I was looking for (Gmail with own domains).
I have read Google dismissed the free service but either they reactivated again or never stopped it.
Is there anything I can do for you to return the favour? Any "banner"?
