Hi, I got a main site, lets say its about cars.ltd, on a an own ip. Now, i got about 50 domains such as for example volvosite.ltd dodgesite.ltd bmwsite.ltd... and so on. These specific car domains are not live yet, but i want to let google know they exist (the age factor), so i build a one page site in 5 min and upload. (under construction kind of thing) Now to my question, can i have all these car name domains on a shared IP, also being on the same c-block as the main site, cards.ltd? These micro sites will have unique content, there is nothing spammy about this project, and they will all most likely link to the main site cars.ltd I have never really been in this situation before, so does anyone see a problem with this? or should i be fine... thanks, modano
You can have such micro sites but do not over do when it comes to linking to the main site. As this will form a Link network and Google hates it.
What if i write articles for the micro site, is it ok to have a link to the main site in each of these articles. A relevant link that is, such as "read more" or "source" and such. Just one link per article. Im just really worried about having so many micro sites on one ip, so close to the main site...
Your best bet is to submit these articles to other article direcctories or relevant websites, they'll count for much more. Google doesn't count more than one links from the same IP..I do link to my new sites from my main sites (just to get then crawled)... Are you going to reciprocate these links? If you think putting a link to the main site in these mini sites helps the visitors and completes the information you're providing, then of course go for it..
AnaB , The links from the mini sites to the main site would only be for visitors purpose, not spiders. But i guess i could put nofollow on them to "prove" that.
In that case there isn't anything you should worry about...if it helps the visitors go right ahead The bad practise is putting links to main site and other mini sites in the footer of each site..
