Ok so we started this contest back last Wednesday, August 1st. The contest ends on Wednesday August 8th at 8:05 PM EST. So only two days left to get your demos/entries in! We're looking for good-looking designs of status icons and forum header backgrounds (category strips), for a vb4 horror forum. All icons should be 48x48 .png. Except for one that'd be 48x48 animated gif. Strips should be .png as well. Set 1 The demon-creature from our banner featured within a rotted, decayed, and grungy looking archery-target-like circle. Here's a Mock. The circles base color would be white/off white. And can be covered in blood trails. Pose for NEW POSTS: He's grinning/smiling, holding a knife. Pose for OLD POSTS: Neck and head shown. Frown on his face. Pose for FORUM_LINK: Neck and head shown. Two X's for eyes. Overall icon background black. Set 2 The demon-creature featured again. Same poses as above. Except this time framed within a blood-splattered, glossy, crime scene polaroid. Overall icon background black. Set 3 Grim reaper featured. Gothic-purple-colored cloak hood, scythe. Pose for NEW POSTS: Scythe blade covered in blood in front of his skeletal face. Behind him, tattered and shredded page-pieces which look to be from a magic spell book. Similar to the tattered rags design of the hobgoblin or demogoblin. Pose for OLD POSTS: Same as NEW POSTS, except? No page pieces. Face not shown. Hidden within cloak-hood instead. Pose for FORUM_LINK: Crystal fortune teller ball with cracks in it. Blood splattered on it. No Reaper or Pages. Overall icons background should be black. Reaper example still Set 4 This image - resized to 48x48. Forum Header Backgrounds / Category Strips Only need two of these. STRIP 1 would feature the phrase "HORROR MOVIES AND STUFF", in black-colored, ink-blotty-like lettering. A bit sloppy with some ink-blot splashes strewn throughout. The phrase would be tilted a bit. The background color would be a mix of the #660000 and #ff0000 hex color codes. Ink Blot lettering examples One and Two. STRIP 2 would feature the same phrase, with the same tilt. Except, the background color would be black. And the background would have cracks, pilts, and holes in it like a dilapidated building (example). And the phrase would be in bloody, runny lettering. Bloody lettering example.
