I know it's been heard before time and time again, and the answer is usually "wait it out, it will come back", but I did a few things that may explain this drop. My 5+ years old solid site has dropped and lost 80% of google traffic over the last few days. I have ZERO% sup results, listed in dmoz, yahoo dir, google dir and whatnot. Listed in google blog search and all my pages get picked up by google almost immediately. In the last 3 weeks, I was really concentrationg on link building, and I sponsored 3-4 wordpress themes that were downloaded 4-5 hundred times total, and also picked up some free big PR links. No other seo mods were done. Do you think this sudden increase of backlinks can be responsible for the drop, and will it come back? Thanks JIM
im not sure if that backlinks could reduce the traffic, just wait for few days or so and check if the traffic is picking up again or its dying more.
Personally I think it is a roll back and there is a thread here on DP about it http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=333163 My stats went south on Monday and just yesterday did a partial recovery. The results show crazy things and look to me to be similar to those from 2 to 3 months ago but with some garbage throwed in. The garbage sites are slowly going away starting yesterday and my site started climbing back up. I am hoping to be back on page 1 today but who knows. SIGH
Hello, Yup, this is happening these days in the google world, you are, you are not, you are, you are not. Who know whazzap. Best, Jakomo
