So I (well my wife) got ripped off by a vending placement service and we ended up losing $125. The money really doesnt bother me as much as the information that I found out about this company. There were tons of more people that got ripped off and some lost up to $15,000. To see some of them check here. They also sit very badly with the better business bureau. Now I just want a little revenge. So I am looking at ways to get some back for all the people they have screwed over. The site does run PPC ads on Google and Yahoo with about a $1 cost per click. Was thinking about getting some revenge that way. But what my question is if anyone knows anything that can be done to stop this website from screwing people over (without going to court). Would contacting hosting company help? Maybe attempt to get a ban? Any ideas would be appreciated on this even if they are not ethical. Thanks
I would call the better business bureau. Email google telling them that the site is a scam, maybe the ads will be taken down.
You may want to contact these people as well: And here is there host contact info Call and report abuse if it applies here. If you're looking for very "non-ethical" solutions I could point you in the right direction.
The Better Business Buraeu extortion racket is a waste of time. Why would he report a company to the better business buraeu when he didn't check with them before using the service to begin with? Nobody else is going to check either. The BBB is a private company that provides favorable treatment to "members". The entire business model is designed around coercing businesses to sign-up. Anyways, sorry to hear about your situation... but reporting them to the BBB is time wasted.
The BBB is really nothing. It just facilitates paperwork and many in business could care less what they think. All big businesses have negative items on their BBB reports. They are basically a "watchdog" service. If you do anything to them that is not above board, you will be sued and you can't use "they ripped me off" as your excuse, well you could, but it won't fly in court. If they are in the USA, report the incident, with proof, to their home state's SAG and yours as well. Sending many letters can help, it has in the past.
A one man show will not help. You'll have to bring more attention to this company. Try some scam forums which are usually crowded with people and experts helping to get down these kind of businesses.
