i have a site getting around 15k-20k hits a day......had a prob with the first host.....can your shared host handle it???

 

WAH i think you need to get a dedicated server with that much traffic,
i'm receiving that much traffic per day and a semi-dedi can't handle it,

i used to use godaddy, and they moved my site to a new server,
and asked me to pay for their dedicated server,

as the server load can't handle that much traffic~

 

A dedicated server is the only way to handle such traffic if you still want some space to grow.
And momomesh,your site load is actually too high for semi dedicated in peak hours,you should upgrade to a dedicated also.
Atm it's working very fast for me

 

ya i'm planning on purchasing your dedicated server next month,

the semi-dedi plans expires on 7 jan 2008,

What you did was not responsible. You sent out an email ON THE DAY you were doing the server move telling everyone that we would be experiencing 1day of downtime, which was exactly 1 day ago now.

You did post this on the wrzhost forums however you can't expect everyone to just goto your forums to lookout for such updates. Since this was a very critical transfer you should have emailed all your clients at least 3 days before you were doing the server move. This downtime is costing me at the very least $1,000 per day. I really hope I don't get another day of downtime, which will be even more disappointing.

Please provide an update ASAP.

 

I sent the email the minute that the datacenter gave me the green light to move the servers.
I didn't know when exactly this was going to happen.
I currently don't have any useable updates but I can say that some of the servers are already in our new datacenter and are being installed.

 

Once you found out you should have delayed the move for at least 3 days so you could warn your customers. This way we could have been prepared for it. It's impossible to prepare for this on the day of the move since it takes time to move a site to another host, and the dns/name server updates take around 48hours to update.

So basically this means the servers will be down for at least another day since it isn't complete yet after 24hours. And since you will be changing the IPs that will take another 24-48hours of downtime from your customers who are using their own nameservers (due to the IP change).

 

yes wrzhost is down due to new server switch but you guys have to relize the switch is for the best this will impove all servers and will improve our services to our clients. This down time will only last 24-72 hours to please be patient its only a little downtime.

 

I understand that its for the better, that's not the point I was trying to make. I was just stating that we should have been warned with a minimum of 3days notice. Since this gives customers time to minimize their losses 72hours of downtime = 3k of losses for me... so this little downtime has a big effect on me. I hope something like this doesn't happen again because this is unacceptable. You should always look at your customers convenience before your own convenience.

 

3 of our dedicated servers which were leased by clients are back.
Our main server will be put up in the next half hour.
Semi dedicated servers and vps servers will be setup afterwards.
Shared servers will be moved tomorrow.

I'm sorry about the trouble this has caused but I'm assuming that you are on semi dedicated or on a vps so your nameserver ips won't have to change so I'm guessing that you will be up again within the next 2 hours.
Only our main server ip will change and also the shared hosting servers.

Main server is being revived as we speak.

Our main server psu needs to be replaced(it's been damaged by the move) so it could be down longer than I expected,you can talk to dangys for further questions.
I'm off to bed now,had a horrible day behind me and I'm glad that 75% of our servers are back online.
Our tech in Hongkong will work for another day to replace the psu and get the rest of our servers up and move our shared servers also, today HKT.
Our services will be 100% up again tomorrow evening.

My server is down again. I have PM'ed you twice about this. Please look into this ASAP.
I can't access my control panel, and pinging the ip address is timing out... so I'm guess the server is down.

 

Dvbspider,Your site was up the 19th,shared was moved the 20th,don't lie.
Shared servers have received new ips so I'm working on them.
Our main server has a broken motherboard that is being fixed.

And hotsauce,your vps is overloaded,vpses are unmanaged so you will have to take care of it yourself,I warned you that it was going to overload becaus it has over 400 processes while a regualr dedicated server has a maximum of 200-300 processes,and it's not down it's just overloaded while you already have 1gig ram so it's not our fault.

Stop using this thread or dp pm for support,if you need support contact me directly on skype.

 

I've asked you numerous times to come on MSN, and I haven't been able to reach you on skype or google talk either. I don't really see any other way to contact you since wrzhost.com is down so the ticketing system isn't working either.
I am also offering to pay extra for you to solve this sudden overload problem (as it may be an attack).
