It is a proven fact that most children copy their parents' actions and even their mannerisms, and desires to follow their footsteps, but there's also those who doesn't want to become like their parents and most of the time defies them. The children that rebels against what you (as the parent) have been used to are the ones you'll need implement good parenting skills with, they will definitely upset you and also leave you feeling discouraged at times. A strong integrity and well developed self-esteem stretches beyond any possession and approval of their peers. As young as one-year-old, your child can start learning self-reliance. GET MORE COMPLIANCE FROM YOUR CHILD. --------------------------------------- To gain more cooperation from their child, you must always use positive communication - You have to try phrasing your request or command in a much positive way as opposed to a negative way. Your child is then less likely to oppose if he/she feels that he/she have some control of the situation when trying to gain cooperation from your child. Start to establish house rules - For instance, if your house rule is that bedtime should be at 8 pm, simply state the rule. COMMON CHILD AND PARENT PROBLEMS. --------------------------------------- A lot of the lessons now are all computerized, most probably your child is more adept in using a computer than you are. All of us went through that stage where we all wanted to be just like all the other famous kids. Your child will begin to revolt about attending school in ordinary school shoes, they might be asking for designer gear like those "other kids" and parents tell their kids not to feel jealous or even inferior. Glad to see people still actually care about raising their kids the right way. Just this week at Burger King, 3 out of the 4 high school seniors did not graduate. Why? Because their parents let them do whatever they want, and that meant skipping school. So sad to see youth wasted doing God only knows what instead of making something of your life. <<<I know it sound weird to say that seeing as I work at BK too, but I'm also a college sophomore so its not like thats where I have settled in.
