I am really enjoying helping people at forums.mychemistrytutor.com It is growing slowly but surely....where should I market next?
Well you could market anywhere ...I would suggest getting BLOG BLASTER it is a free software that you can get that will submit you to 100-500 blogs free at a time. It is a very great Tool i have been using and sure helps because u can search what keyworded blogg you are looking for.
Started out slow. The main site ranks well on MSN so I get some natural traffic that way. Then I found some similar sites and asked to link with them. Even got a moderator or two out of it. It grows at a steady pace. I would just like to pick it up a bit. I know SMF is hard on SEO so pointers there would be good. I am not ready to just put an ad in a college paper.
Do you have a budget to advertise? I wouldn't recommend getting paid links/banner ads, but you might have luck with MySpace advertising. You'd then able to properly target college students.
If you decide to do any paid advertising, I would wait until the beginning of the next school year. I'd also add a visible graphic saying ''bookmark this page'' (or similiar), as this is the kind of site that will get repeat traffic the next time they need help with their H.O.
Print out millions of flyers and go throw them around schools. that will for sure get ya going really good.
Ok... so what about posting articles.. or basic guides to chemistry subjects? And then doing social bookmarking on them? Or even article submission?
Check the logs.If people are using the right keywords to find your site, then monetize it. Display some Adsense or sell ad ad space.
it will eventually have tutorials when i get the summer off to write them i have never tried the article thing.....
Especially if it's an interesting article about chemistry... you can recieve a lot of traffic via social bookmarking! Why not try.. just one article at first? Doesn't take too long to write..
When he said myspace marketing, he meant like having somone blast myspace comments or buletins, not the legit like $20,000 for a banner. It's pretty cheap like 5 bucks for 100 comments. It should help your site out GREATLY!
