Dammit! I tried to visit the URLs of my websites today, and ALL of them are down, except for my blog and site which is not under homestead. Every homestead site on the internet is currently down, and when I call the number, they say it could take 12 to 24 hours to resolve the issue. . WTF? 12 to 24 hours? My income from my sites will plummet during that time. They claim some "malicious attack" is responsible. The only thing I know is that there system is not secure, period. If homestead sites can be knocked down overnight, what stops other hosting companies from having their sites knocked down overnight. Everybody reading this better listen. I don't care how much traffic you're getting, because if your site gets knocked down like mine, your income will disappear overnight. Your affiliate sells will stop, along with your adsense revenue. I've had my account with Homestead for two years, and this has never happened. In my opinion this is the equivalent of a cyber terrorist attack! This situation confirms things I've said in the past. If some hacker can knock down websites, what stops governments and corporations from doing the same? Some of you are reading this and are saying that this can't happen to you because you're not with Homestead. Wrong! If my sites and all Homestead user sites can be knocked down so can any website resting on any server or hosting account.
This is NOT a FREE service by any means! I am the same as you...I pay over 50 a month. Have used it for years and never a problem. I just launched a huge marketing campaign today.....now traffic can't access my website! Time is money and I as you am completely frustrated!
I suggest dropping homestead. I did a LONG time ago, unless they had improved since then. (FYI - if you used homestead's sitebuilder.. it may be impossible to transfer)
