Hi, I've just recently changed my homepage title but according to my webmaster tools google hasn't successfully crawled my homepage since 14th July. Google usually crawls my site once every 3/4 days, should I be concerned, my visitor numbers haven't fallen in fact they've risen if anything. I updated and re-submitted my sitemaps on 21st July. If you only just re submitted your site maps it may take upto 1 week to have them re crawled. I commonly find that it can take this long on some of my pages, but on others if I make titile changes it happens within a few hours. I wouldn't be worried yet, give it another 7 days
don't aint nothing!. it says my site hasn't been crawled since april 10th!. How ever google is always crawling my site.
Thanks for the replies, Google is always crawling my site too, I think there might be something wrong with webmaster tools as the modified page has been indexed as I've searched for it. Steve
Do a google search on your page URL and then look at the cache date. That will give you the real crawl date. Webmaster Tools is always delayed data.
It has it now so panic over. What I don't understand though is why google doesn't pick up any of my backlinks (5 after 2 years), I've worked tirelessly on backlink building, is it time to bite the bullet and hire a pro because I'm obviously doing something wrong here. Steve
