Guys i write about a specific topic on my blog. However yesterday i posted something about terrorism in relation to that topic and suddenly all ads on my hompage started serving "Terrorism" and some related crap ads, completely irrelevant to the blog niche. I finally deleted that topic to get rid of those keywords..however it still shows the same ads on homepage. however on internal pages it shows relevant ads. It never happened to me before. Is there any way i can get rid of those stupid ads
Godmode, I think you need to give Google some time and it will change your ads back to normal on home page (since you removed that post). The problem is that Google found that you're talking about terrorism in your last post and that's why it's trying to provide related ads to that. After G visits your page next time (maybe 2 or 3 days, I don't know), it will realize that terrorism is not your main topic and it will change that accordingly. best regards, Tony Sticks.
Yeah it should figure itself out eventually. I believe the amount of time it takes will depend on how often your site gets crawled. Dont quote me on that as its simply speculation.
Try target sectioning The HTML tags to emphasize a page section take the following format: <!-- google_ad_section_start --> Main Topic content here <!-- google_ad_section_end --> It works well for me on normal pages, I don't know about blogs
i dont think i really need section targetting. Since my topic is exclusive and i dont talk anything beyond that. It never happened to me earlier. I guess i would live with the choice of google revisiting the page. Hopefully makes the change. I have noticed G visits every 2nd/3rd day. Hopefully by friday everything should be OK. Thanks everyone for your help. I appreciate
You can ping Google with your site map and they will visit immiediately. One thing that I've found really helps me with targeting is to make sure your keywords are in your title and adding a meta description with my keywords and a meta keyword tag. Always seems to help with targeting on my sites. It does seem like Google is a little slow today. I entered in some filtered advertisors earlier and the ads from these advertisors are still showing, usally this takes effect almost immediately. hth
"Emphasize important content with section targeting Google AdSense ads are automatically targeted to the content of your web page, but sometimes you may want to emphasize or downplay certain sections of your page -- for example, you may want to emphasize the first paragraph of your article or ignore your menu bar. With section targeting, you can help us determine what parts of your content are important so that your site can show more targeted ads. Our crawlers will still look at your entire website, but your suggestions will assist us in improving your ad targeting." My understanding of section targeting is to emphasize what content you want adsense to focus ads on. If you surround your key content with sectioning it serves as kind of a keyword tag for adsense to focus on. That way even if you write a little off normal topic, Adsense will still serve ads relevant to main topic. It has worked for me, and can't hurt to insert the tags.
So few times? Google visits my site every 1 or 2 hours, like most other search engines. I think you need a good SEO book if you ask me.
