Homepage Ranking over Blog Post?

Hey everyone, so I have noticed a issue that annoys me. I have a blog site that posts about cycling gear and products. Yesterday (and a lot recently) we would write a post, for example we will use "2012 Felt Brougham Fixed Gear Bike".

Now, when I go to Google and put the exact term in "2012 Felt Brougham Fixed Gear Bike", the homepage ranks third (instead of the actual page). The url for the post "http://bikereviews.com/2012/03/2012-felt-brougham-fixed-gear-bike/" is also indexed into google.

I have attached a screen shot to show. Your help is greatly appreciated:

I think if anything is ranking well in Google, it's a blessing and will still drive traffic to your site. Either will drive traffic to your site hopefully.

Some webmasters believe that every page within a blog pushes the 'mother' page up. I personally don't believe this

Normally due to the site structure & of course your homepage is having too much "strength" over the internal page.

Probably it is the manner of how your site is indexed where the homepage matched better on the result.
