    Hi,

why do webmasters tend to want only homepage only links when they exchange links between them?

Why not site wide links too? What's the explanation?

Home page links are in demand because of their visibility and generally homepage has higher pr. Sitewide links are also from homepage and they are also valuable.

site wide links are irrelevant. the point of putting your link on one page only is to get it targeted to the content and audience of that page.

also, why would a webmaster want to sell site-wide links? that's a static link across an ENTIRE site!

You need to have a diverse link profile. That would include site wide links, I have found that having links from multiple source's is the best.

In link building quality and unique IP links aare more valuable... So hompage of any site havind some good quality and also index quickly... And also the site wide link may be treat as spam links may reduce the link value
