My homepage vanished from the link list of both internal and external backlinks on Google webmaster tools. The page is still indexed and I found no crawling issues or ranking changes. Did anyone else encounter such a case where a page with thousands of backlinks suddenly vanishes from the link lists in Google webmaster tools? I'm using Google website optimizer on the homepage although I doubt if it's related...
the same happend to my and i don't know why. i didn't change anything in the home page or the website many weeks ago.
webmaster tools never show all the links. try searching on google.com, if you can find it there its indexed.
It already happened to me a couple of times in the past with some inner pages, but never on the homepage (Google used to display ~5000 backlinks up until a few months ago) I blame the new webmaster tools interface - I wish Google will let us choose which format we want to use ,the old one or the lame one...
If link list only decrease that's normal but if you see 0 link list in webmaster tools that could be error in webmaster tools.
Even on a "link:www.myhomepage.com" check on Google i still see a couple hundreds of links (a small portion as always), but the url of the homepage vanished entirely from Google's webmaster tools. I hope it's just a silly Google glitch and not a bad omen....
