Are homepage links to and from your link exchange partners good or bad? Do these type links help consumers looking for the same type service but in another state or are they only meant to be used as a tool to manipulate serps? 1. Do they help your consumers? 2. Are they meant to manipulate serps/ or a valuable seo benefit
I see them mostly as back links but helpful if linking from a site that has same type of content as you.
Thanks for the responses so far folks, keep them coming. I would like to make a point with this thread, but I cant do it without your help.
Homepage links are the best links you can get. I'd rather have one quality homepage link that 10 links pages links.
Since Home page has the highest PR, getting links from the home page does help increase PR plus also come up in SERPs for the keywords used in links.
Generally I prefer sub-pages links. They appear more as “editorial votes†to search engines. Basically whether I am trading, buying or bartering I want the links back to client sites to look as organic as possible. This will ensure they pass value for the longest amount of time. It is rather obvious to search engines what most external links off the bottom of the homepage are. That being said if you can get them placed on the homepage in a position that will garner traffic great! Obviously I am very focused on long-term results. Just my opinion…
Always homepage links are SEO benefit but sometimes sub-pages links are better than homepage. Some it can be right, I saw it. The best way, you will get site-wide
