I designed my website (zencart) with the url having 'www' in front. Now when I search the url in Google (site:www.myurl.com), the mainpage displays without www, but all the other pages of the website have www. What could be the reason for all the pages being www like they're supposed to be, except for the homepage?
When you visit the homepage of your site now, does it redirect you to www if you visit it without the www? If not, fix it with .htaccess: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^YourSite.co.uk [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.YourSite.co.uk/$1 [L,R=301] Code (markup): If it does redirect you, bad luck - google just happened to index you when your site wasn't 100% working. Give it time and they'll fix it .
It doesn't redirect. When I go no www, it shows no www and vice versa. I'm trying to figure out why all the pages would show www except the homepage, when I set it up to show www. Would it maybe be because I may have registered the website without www with my host or registrar? I'm trying to figure this out for SEO purposes.
In adition to what Deacalion said, enter Google Webmaster Tools and you can tell google to list your site as www. for all links... Or non-www if you prefer.. Chuckun
