EDIT: Its 1:40 AM, and I start my college courses at 8 am, which happens to be Digital Layout, and then after that I have Digital Color. Yay! heh. So I just wanted to say I cant make my revision tonight. I should be able to get it done by tomorrow but don't wait on me if your ready to dish out winnings.

 

Hi Guys – here’s some more feedback:

Shadylady (38) – I love it, very professional looking with the colours you’ve chosen.
I’m not too keen on the red latest articles and red title headings. Could you please try shiny blue or another colour for the latest articles and bold black for the article titles.
The about us idea is interesting, but it needs some work – I’m not sure in which direction though. Otherwise I think it’s very good.

Xavier_3D (39) – It’s nice – looks crisp and clear. I’m not keen on the right hand side though.

Jnjnnino (40) – The dark blue is great – could you please apply the dark blue colours to the about us section on the right hand side and maybe try something with the about us box. I really like the green arrows as well for the articles as well alongside the black article titles and red read more. You’re achieving what I’m after – making the design more interesting.

Bizzard (42) – it’s very interesting and got me thinking, but I’m afraid it’s not what I’m after.

Still plenty of time to get your entries in.

@ShadyLady - nice about us box...

 

Here is my revision (blue looks really nice, but I didn't want to change the logo color so I kept that orange and tried incorporating red/orange into the design). The about us box is changed like last time, but now I have also re-done one of the ads to make it stand out more.

Okay – here’s some more feedback.
I’d just like to say that the designs are looking great now and it will be very difficult to choose (that’s why I said 2 winners)

ShadyLady (44) – It’s a very nice design. I do like the shiny Black on the right hand side. I’m not too sure on the colour blue you have chosen though. Still it’s very nice and the about us box is very nice – If you could change the light blue to black and keep the logo that could ook great,
You have just been nudged into 2nd place though.

V06-TECH (46) – I’m not too keen on the colour blue – but I like what you have done with the about us box. I’m afraid you are in 3rd place.

Jnjnnino (47) – This is starting to look very nice. The about us box is a cool design and I need to think about if it will work. As to suggestions. Could you please try and make the latest articles a bit more compact as presently there is a lot of space between them (too much) – also if you could try and do something with the most popular articles – make it obviously separate as on the site the articles will continue underneath it.
With the about us box: Is it possible you can do another design where it is shiny black and the same with the Latest articles header.

A bit more feedback:

ShadyLady – I couldn’t see the change – the top of the about us box is still blue.
As it stands you are still in 2nd place

Jnjnnino – I like the black colour in the about us box – but the light blue for oil charts, etc.. just seems a bit weak. I like the latest articles – neat crisp and professional looking. The one thing is that the page seems alittle bit busy and overpowering now.
You are currently in first place.

Oh, sorry. I thought you wanted me to change the headings for 'more articles' and 'latest articles' black.

Here are my revised versions (the entries where the "latest articles" section has been changed, that can be done to all the article sections. But I didn't want to spend the time to do them all if I'm not picked) About us box is changed a little, search engine is sticking out, the ads have been changed too. The header and nav and all that has been changed. And empty space was taken out of the footer. 'Im sure I did more but forgot. Hope you like it :]

Here is one more entry. I switched the banner back to the location where it was supposed to be at. And just remember, any of the "Latest Articles" designs above can be used below. And the designs can be added to the "Most Popular Articles" and "More Articles" sections (once again, I didn't show it here as to save time):

 

Okay guys – competition over.

Here are the results.

In 1st place is jnjnnino – with design no 52 – it’s great and I will use a few things from it.

2nd place – this was a very hard fought battle but shady lady has just got it – with post number 53

V06-Tech – I’m going to speak to my developer about the site contributors ad you have created – if he thinks it can fit in I’ll pay you $25. I won’t hear back until tomorrow morning though and I’ll announce on the thread.

Interesting. I honestly thought I would win first, or maybe second. You really didn't like my last entries?.. I spent hours upon hours on mine =/
I guess I will just hope for the $25.

 

I did do many edits . It wasn't just the about us box or the colour.
The CH PM'ed me multiple times requesting changes which I did and spent some time on. I just didnt keep posting after every single change that I did.
