Home page of my site is nowhere in SERPS when searched for the domain name. Used to show up number 1, now is no where. when i perform site:www.domain.com all the pages show up, except the home page.

I change google site map, index page to 1, put some links with domain name pointed to my home page, still nothing shows up.

    Do you know why?

I guess people mostly link to deep pages on your site.

    Anyhow, is it a problem?

Yes, but they would still get to your site, wouldn't they? Just a different page? I just searched that and found your page on top, but some deep page.

You need links to your main page.

But, people are linking to your RSS-feed? Why would they do that?

    Just brain storming here...

    • Would a 301 redirect on the RSS feed create problems for your readers?
    • You could put a meta tag to not crawl on the RSS feed.

I have never tried stuff like that, so I hope some SEO guru will tell us if that would work.
