Hey Guys, So I am looking to redesign a few of my sites to make them work with the new Google Panda and Penguin... Had a fast question tho... When it comes to content on your page I notice some of my competitors that pull up on the first page of google yet their pages are full of images and such... not really text... How does this happen.... I always keep a lot of text on all my pages because I figured that is what google reads... I know the images make the page look nicer... but I was always taught google cant read the images... Please help me out! Thanks, Clucks2772
Its hard to say something with the information you are giving. How ever you have the alt attribute for images. This will tell spiders where the image is about, so when you use images think twice with what you put there.
Google can't read flash and java file. Google still can crawl for gif , jpeg, png files. Google still can read the image files by the ALT and Title Tag of the image and interprate what the website is all about. The site might have lot of strong backlinks and good review site .
Google crawls everything. In case of images alt attributed images also used to index in search result of Google. Therefore, we all know that images attract more traffic towards a site. Today almost every social networking site is popular due to images or posts like G+ or Facebook. So, i would like to suggest you to use text on your site as well as images, so that it will more beneficial for you to attract lots of traffic towards your site.
There are approximately 200 factors that Google algorithm takes into consideration when listing a website in SERPs for a certain search term. To tap the best chances, you should have a combination of both in your new design. Ensure that you have unique alt attributes set for your images and sprinkle a combination of keywords and keyphrases related to the page within the content. Avoid optimizing the page for any single keyword but try to keep it as natural as possible.
Hey, There are many factors for crawling an image based site. You can do the same only thing you have to keep some important things in mind like:- 1) Use your keywords in ALT TAG don't write in title of image "welcome_your website URL____" 2) Use caption on images 3) Don't use those images which are already crawl on Google from other site because it is like you are coping content for Google. And Google doesn't give much response for second time. 4) Use HTML code in FLASH or other files. Thanks,
Well, it is possible to optimize a web page with images and flashy stuffs, you have to design your site in the way search engine wants I would say. Try to use text too, if you are using images, wherever you get option to put content, you should put so that search engine spiders would reach the content easily.
They can be using a lot of images, but if they are still optimizing them (Alt descriptions, captions) then they are fine. Using images properly can be a great way to build links through outlets such as Pinterest now, which is a link building machine.
