Home page has high PR, but linked page has 0... is there any love?

When searching for do-follow blogs to post on, I can find quite a few relevant, quality sites with high PR on the main page. Many times, however, the actual post would appear on a low or non ranking page. Does any PR value transfer from the main page, or should I just move on to the next one?

What you want to check is if the page is indexed or not.
    Type this into Google:
    info:www. domainname.com

If you see a cached page here then a link on the page would be beneficial.

If the Home page have a PR it's indexed

every new post will start at PR0 or no PR at all, but if the home page have high PR you can be sure that the PR of the post page will increase with the time.

one fact is if this blog is related to your niche post a comment it will take few seconds but it can give you some quality traffic and the more comment the post get the higher its PR will get

I'm not sure but I would guess that at least the site itself has some authority with G if it has a high pr. I too have wondered about this though.

Do blog comments last for years or is it a case that they - like forum links - have to be constantly renewed?

I noticed with the last Google update 700 or so of my forum links disappeared and I believe quite a few blog postings did too although I haven't checked each one.

I would suggest you to forget PR of webpage as PR is outdated parameter. For building quality links it is advisable to look for thematically relevant sites that have great piece of content .

Only can agree on that. Also check the robots.txt maybe all sites except the inxed are excluded from getting indexed
