hi, My website http://www.a1-diamond.com has Pr3 ( home page and most of its internal pages around 100 out of 120 pages also have Pr 3) . Generally I have noticed that home page have higher Page rank than internal pages. I know that there are possible reasons and instances that inner pages can even have higher page rank than home page. but I have not noticed that 90 % of inner pages will have same Pr as of homepage ( even sub-sub-pages, third tire page level also have Pr3) Please let me know any possible reasons for this. P.S. I mostly do SEO for homepage only ( back links) thanks in advance
This could be because you link to your other pages from the homepage, so the pagerank is passed on to these other pages. However I usually find that the homepage ranks higher than the internal pages.
actually spreading Page Rank is throughout the site is done by incoming links, internal navigation structure, outgoing links.
Its never like that the page rank of home page is always more than page rank of your inner pages. I have certain inner pages of website which have PR 4 but my home page has only PR 2. It depends on number of incoming links to that page. May be you are doing equal amount of work for most of pages and hence same PR for all pages.
I am doing most of SEO work for homepage only and my home page has maximum incomeing links as compared to inner pages 100 times more links. and I have around 150 internal links in home page ( which is much more than as recommended by google-100)
I wouldn't attach too much attention to it - with some of my websites the main page has a lower PR than a popular subpage...
no surprise case, it depends on your page content. Since google change his rule, it happens a lot. sometimes internal pages' rank higher than homepage, may you have done the same work to them, but still some unexpected cases. To a certain extent, internal pages having higher PR may bring good conversion to you.
