Those are some good tips on working from home. I have a terrible time finding balance - I will get going on a project and all of a sudden, it's 5 hours later and I haven't eaten anything or stretched and my eyes are about to fall out from staring at the computer. Setting priorities is also important. Each night, I make out a to-do list for the next morning. I put the most urgent items first and then finish with the less important items. I cross off each item as it is completed so I always know what needs to get done. I also have a list of "downtime tasks" that I can do if I run out of regular work. It includes things like Web site updates, reconnecting with past clients, reading books on freelancing, etc.
For me it is hard with small children in the house that are constantly in need of something. Work happens around lunch time, naps and afternoon television shows. Daycare has made it a tad easier but it still has draw backs because of sick days.
Yes, I agree. Working from home give us lot of freedom. In time of recession, home based business gets even better.
I have the opposite problem as most when it involves working from home. I never stop. When my office is just steps away from my bedroom, my mind sees that as an opportunity to constantly be working, whether it be networking, brainstorming, or actually marketing. For an example, today, I've been sitting here since 9am my time and just realized I haven't eaten breakfast (or lunch or dinner) yet... I've got to work on the balance more.
