My sites were hacked last week and they stayed like that for 3-4 days! On one of them i now have big problems...google crawled it while it had the hack page and for 2 keywords i was first, now i don't even show up in serps! Will it recover? position for other keywords was affected too but not that hard!
i am not sure where i read this, so take it with a grain of salt, but with google your newly hacked and then fixed sites keywords might show up near the top or at the top of the first page at first and then fall to lesser pages. i hate to mention something that i can't back up with the exact quote, but i hoped to lessen your distress some. this seems to happen to me when i optimize my adwords campaign keywords. i get so excited when i see my site on the first page, and then it falls to where my newish site really ranks after a couple of days. (if i can find where i saw this phenomena mentioned i will post the link. it really helped me 'chill-ax' when i read it. what made me give it credence was the fact that my alexa rankings were improving even as i observed the appearance and disappearance of my site/keywords on the first or second page.)
It will bounce back, within a few days of Google crawling the fresh site you should start moving back to the top.
Are you on a shared hosting account ? Google will index your site again assuming you get it back up quickly You may lose position tho
Yes, i am on shared hosting! Site was in coma for only 3 days, i don't understand why few months work went down the drain in such a short time...
Because when Google crawled your site the content of your site did not had the keywords for which you were ranking. What I want to ask is, did you lost rankings or your site is not indexed at all? If it is anyway indexed, just wait for a bit until Googlebot crawls your site again and gets the new content, it will most probably give you back the old rankings.
Do need to fear... The only SEO effects this had was to your on-page optimization, your backlinks and such are still intact. You'll probably have about a month or two of non-normal SERPs before they return to normal. I wouldn't worry to much, just contiune your SEO efforts and in time things will be back to normal. I've experienced this first hand and it only took 3 weeks to retain my old SERPs.
ew,too bad for you.. do you have a back up copy? too much adjustment i think. i hope you never start now from the scratch.
