Well, I gotta say, WOW !!

I've had my feed the idiots site up for over a year or so and google barely indexes the dang thing. I often search for it but usually have to type in the whole freaking url to get google to show it.

I've since changed the redirection service and tried to have my link added to a few places then i decided to check google again tonight and guess what ?!

for the search "feed the idiots" (no quotes) I'm #1 !!!

    WOW !!

    Ninetendo is right.

Google probably likes TLD's over cjb.net which has bad history behind it.

    remember "bad neighborhoods"

    That is great...

How much traffic (search queries per month) is there for that keyword phrase, though? That is the main thing.

Congratulations on your results - we have just seen a similar thing with our website (about 2 weeks old) going #1 in 86,800,000 results due to the domain name. http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=one+stadium&meta=

But as jdw4jesus says, it comes down to how many people search on those keywords.

What it does show for you though is that Google is now indexing your site quite well after dropping the cjb.net, and so you can try and optimise pages for what people do search on. Good luck with feeding the idiots!

what about having www.deluxe.am #1 for "deluxe technologies". thats when the webmaster need to be happy when he's site is a head of some other site that is www.[SearchedWord].com or .anything

    Another keyword not optimized for.

Results 1 - 10 of about 611 for "deluxe technologies"

Next we want to look at the amount of searches done for your great Google listing......

    Wordtracker

parsons technology screen shot deluxe 2.0 /day

    Overture

No data for phrase: deluxe technologies

As can clearly be seen, this is a term we "Do Not" want to target.

    Just my opinion....

yeah, I'd don't mind about that, but the thing is that it is what we longed for.... :)

P.S. besides I am happy just because my site got ahead of the domain :) www.deluxetechnologies.com

Not to burst your bubble or discourage you, but non-competitve keyword terms and phrases are not hard to rank, even in Google, especially when they're part of the domain and file structure. One of my client's is estatic that she ranked so well straight out of the gate for "elizabethtown yoga" ... I was glad she was happy, but I honestly didn't fess up how easy it was either - the domain I had her buy is elizabethtown-yoga, it's in the <title> and honestly, who in the hell else is competing for it ...

Yes but if you look at your competition for the domain name...she is not optimized and if she were it would be for keyword terms such as Lotus Notes....

Results 1 - 10 of about 33,600,000 for lotus notes.

    Wordtracker

    lotus notes 443.0 /day

    Overture

    lotus notes 311.0 /day

As can clearly be seen, A keyword term we "Do Want" to target

Next you targeted to beat out a woman who does not offer any of the services you do....

That is like me competing with a car mechanic....

    ?????

Someone giving you this business advice????

    Thanks for clarification :) loool

We to tell you the truth you helped me. I will make our SEO team work a bit more this year. They need to learn a lot of things, besides her site is a PR3 and ours PR5 so that may cause us to be ahead.

    Well, thanks
