Okay, I thought I had a pretty good handle on SEO but then I got an email from a directory. The whole email was fairly silly and made me want to run away screaming but the part that really made me scratch my head was this: "... we take a holistic approach to undertaking our own SEO work ... " What the heck is holistic SEO?
To me that would mean considering and taking into account all aspects of SEO and not just focusing on one part. Google it baby.
Yeah I did that. Made no snese to me. I always thought of SEO as the whole thing with the different parts making up the whole.
couldnt it also be viewed as developing the site for the user and in turn the site will promote itself?
its should be viewed for the user first, but still have to keep in mind that visitor wont see you unless you promote your site in SEs, Directories and others. Think of the human visitors first before you think of the SE bots.. Regards Basoone
This is what I would think, as well. A word frequently used in conjunction with 'holistic' is 'natural' - when applied to SEO, I would think this means taking a "natural" approach, i.e. focusing on the value of the website first, and the SEO benefits second. Sam
