I just got back from my holidays - I had nearly 3 whole weeks away from the pc... after I got over the initial withdrawal symptoms I actually had a really fantastic time :)

Wanna see where I went? Check the photo's http://www.nettrafficchat.com/showthread.php?p=2678#post2678

I am curious to know if any of you take holiday breaks over the whole holiday season? If so, did anyone go anywhere cool?

    Cheers,
    Cindy

What??? I made them little thumbnails so that they would load up quickly - and you don't need to be a member!

Just wanted a chance to brag about my beautiful country a little and perhaps have a discussion about some beautiful holiday destinations.

oh, well - you just get to see the sneak peek.. lol (Or you could sign up... just jokes)

I thought the thumbnail shot would be enough to give you the idea of where I went.

So... have you been on holidays lately? If so, where?

We went to Colorado (USA), Rocky Mountain Natl. Park.
1st time there, it was killer - photo opportunities galore :)

That was in June. I'm still working on the pics (long story).

Just for one week. Next year we hope to do at least 2 weeks in the state of Vermont during the fall foliage :)

Nice :) Is that normal for Americans to go on holidays midyear? That's when schools get their big holiday break isn't it?

Yeah, a lot of people travel according to school schedules...summer especially, spring break in March usually.

That was not the case for us...just happen that way - time share arrangements - we don't ski so we wouldn't be going there in the winter and fall/spring no telling what the weather would have been like....in fact one of the roads in RMNP was still closed on account of snow....that had been there since winter!!

12K feet above sea level :)

Well, that's just tragic! If you could go on a virtual holiday, where would you go?

I would definately love to see New Zealand, I have heard it's so beautiful.

My second visit would be to Italy. I have relatives who live there, and would love to see the place of my heritage.

My life is kind of a holiday, but I am still wanting to actually go somewhere in the next month, but that may be put back to may/june when airfares are cheaper.

I don't know what to do. Go on a smaller holiday in the coming few weeks (roadtrip) then go on another bigger one later in the year, go on a big holiday soon, or just go on a smaller one and forget about the bigger one. I have a big break from university at the moment so it is all about finding things to do.

Well, I have found that the shoestring holidays are often the funnest :)

This holiday break, we spent a bit over a week in a tent... which I was dreading to begin with, but ended up so beautiful. The second half we stayed at a yacht club in a fully self-contained apartment. We had a lot of fun too, but I think that we had a more 'bonding' family time by roughing it a bit.

these are HDR images (High Dynamic Range - basically 3-6 images blended together to get an even exposure throughout the picture)

but they are still unedited aside from the HDR aspect
