Holidays Coming Up - Expect Higher Payout?

This is my first year doing AdSense and am excited to see what the holidays will bring. My sites target e-commerce ads and feel that I am safe to assume that those will be clicked on more this up coming Christmas.

Anyone had any experience with this? Have you seen a spike in traffic/AdSense revenue during these next few months in years past? Wouldn't companies be bidding more as well during the holidays to land the higher positions resulting in a higher CPC?

Black Friday seems to be the day it shoots through the roof.

Certain sites do very well on holidays, but most will notice a drop in earnings since people will be shopping and buying more.

I would think that more people would be willing to click on an ad with a good incentive price during the holidays. More and more people are doing all their shopping online every year. Like I said, most of my ads are for products and other e-commerce sites selling things.

I do believe publishers with over $2,500.00 or so earnings for the year get something special from google :)

This is a very good assumption because the Google income increased this year drastically!

In response to the original question..

Coming up to the holidays last year - I did not see a significant increase in earnings (but I have a free images web site which does not have any xmas type images on it - so maybe that had something to do with it)...

For higher earners, google sends christmas gifts.
Last year I received an beautiful electronic photo frame.
Year before that, it was a usb/wireless kit including wireless mouse, use storage and stuff.

    Lets see what this time..
    I will be waiting...

What is a "high earner?" Is there really a $2,500/year cut off? How much did you make during those years roughly?

If your traffic is good, yes. It all depends. My traffic has gone up and so has my payouts.

I think so. Christmas means more time online.
