Holder: "it's time to question laws that senselessly expand the concept of self-defense"

Speaking at the NAACP convention in Florida today, AG Eric Holder criticized Florida's "stand your ground" law that allows people to use lethal force if they feel their life is being threatened, without the requirement to try and retreat.

I really worry when the nations top cop tells people that expanding our ability to defend ourselves is senseless. What stand your ground did was protect innocent people from murder and manslaughter charges, as well as civil suits, by taking the requirement of running away like a pansy out of the law. Previously you could be charged with murder because you shot and killed an armed robber at a grocery store. The requirement to retreat if you can do it safely put innocent people at legal risk, and protected criminals.

I have no clue how Eric Holder is still AG. He has got to be one of the most controversial AG's in recent history with Fast and Furious, reporter spying, and now getting politically involved in state laws that protect innocent people. And remember, Obama has full confidence in this man. How can you support a person that tells you that expanding self-defense is senseless?

Nothing that Holder says should ever be taken seriously. . .
