I need a review for my site. It’s a humor site with original content, videos, pictures, and links. If you like my posts it’s like that only better. If you don’t like my posts, don’t worry there’s all kinds of other stuff like the above-mentioned videos, pictures, and links.

What looks good? What doesn’t look good?

How could I include ads better on my site?

Is there anything that just really sticks out and doesn’t feel/look right?

Is there anything you would suggest changing?

 

Good desgin, 9/10, but I don't like the color you used: white against black, make eyes uncomfortable.

-It looks a little sterile for the type of site it is.
I don't think you should make it cheesy looking but maybe adding some more color or something wouldn't hurt

-There's lots of room next to your logo. Put some goofy shit up there.

-The thumbnails under "Latest Pictures" don't look very good.
I would either make them larger or maintain a separate set.

-Under "New For Today", you definitely want to make those items look like links.

-I would tighten up the home page so that the pictures and stuff are visible "above the fold".

-The search doesn't appear to work.

Your site goes back and forth between hodgedup.com and www.hodgedup.com I'd make sure its consistent.

How could I include ads better on my site?

From my experience, sites like this get THE WORST click thru rate. I think I get 2 clicks on every 2000 pvs and they pay like crap. I'd apply for some impression based ads once traffic there.

Hulk hogan v the 4 armed god was too funny , list was great too.

The gray backgrounds for all the tables bug me. Inverted text (white text on dark background) is so much harder to read.

Other than that, it looks good, I think. Colors are a tad understated, but if thats what you are going for, it works.

lorien1973, sounds like good advice, but my recommendation to Hodgedup is make sure to avoid the popup thing. That is, if you plan on having keeping your repeat visitors.

How often are news/links/pic uploaded? If it's frequent, then consider including the added dates. A visitor might be inclined to visit again if they know there's lots of new material just by looking at when something was last added.

(Just noticed one article has a "submitted on" date, but that's about it.)

<edit>oh yeah, I think the photo of you humping your room mate needs resized. I think that's what's forcing the table down.

 

I think you should have a page numbering system for all those articles for when the list starts getting too big and also you should have a page which displays all keywords.

Those are the only changes I would make.
