After the recent controversies regarding the pay packages and all, the team just had to be aggressive on the field and it clearly showed in their attitude and play! I am surprised with the agility and skills of many young players. Though... I could watch only the first half, I was delighted to see the 2-0 lead in the same and good conversion of penalty strokes! Well Indian team started really well in first half although it takes some time to score goal but once we scored we are on top and it's great win for India against four time champions.
I was not aware that India is ranked as low as 10th in the world ranking in hockey... and Pakistan at No. 7! We are all so absorbed following cricket that we did not realize the two neighbors have been doing so badly... in this sport! Regards, RightMan
Yes in past both countries dominate this sports but now they hardly even reach finals. People aren't aware about it because most of people busy with Cricket itself.
I am quite happy that India have won and i am also glad that players have got cash price too. Its a great feeling to beat pakistan in any match. Indian players played superb hockey.
I saw the match in full and had great fun which was worth my time! I know Pakistan is a better team than India, but then we could convert the penalty corners to goals. Thanks to Sandeep Singh! In general, all playing 11 were so athletic and agile on the field! I know it's just the beginning but now I started believing they will storm through the last 4. Keep up the good work guys!
The team looks for a good start and they can’t ask for better opponents than Pakistan to set their spirits on fire. Coach Brasa will look at striker Prabhjot Singh who vowed to keep captaincy issues and play his best, then the team captain Rajpal Singh. He will also count in the presence of Shivendra Singh who has athletic feet and Arjun Halappa for his experience. Goalie Adrian D’Souza has a ton of experience to help with the young talent. But it is not as easy as said. They have to get off to a flying start and continue the momentum through the tournament.
Exactly! Belief can be a powerful medicine; that's what the new Indian hockey team coach Jose Brasa told the boys and the boys just believed in their abilities!
The old saga continues.... Sadly, both the sub-continent teams are almost out of the world Cup having already lost 2 games ! Regards, RightMan
Yes both team looks like playing world cup for just fun. India started well but lost both games by 5-2 and I guess it's less chances for us to make through. England looks very strong so far along with Dutch.
