As Google hasn't been updating PR for about a year it has become difficult to assess the quality of site from the first glance. What to you take into consideration usually? What software do you use for this (free ones are more interesting for me)? Thank everybody in advance!
I prefer metrics like PA/DA/TF/MozRank...Use sites like AhRefs to evaluate backlinks.. You can also use sites like MOZ.
If you need a metric, Moz offers some useful metrics. Mostly, I think it's best to decide for myself whether a site is good or bad. What is the site supposed to accomplish? Does it do so? Is it useful? Is it relatively well-written and free of errors?
You know a lot has changed for SEO in last couple of years, but the backlinks maintain the same value. In old days your site would rank higher based on number of backlinks you have got, but in 2014 it’s all about how many quality links you are getting. usually i use SEMRUSH and ahref for this purpose.
First off it must be long in the market. As long as you honor search engine rules then your good to go.
MOZ, SEMrush, ahref, Backlink Checker ... etc. various free tools available tools. But recommended : Google Rules (Penguin or Panda or whatever) Always preferred.
