hmm - seems like GA cheating to me

I was checking my stats today and I noticed a 0c click ... my first one for a particular channel... Well OK , I've received such b4 not a big deal...
BUT after 1 hour I checked the stats again and the 0c click became a 1c click

Seems like google is waiting for conversion data from the advertiser before posting the earnings. I really doubt that the earnings and click are reported separately too and I've seen this happen before but then the 0c click became a xx-c click

I am not sure if this post is against the TOS so admins please remove if it is.

    Thanks

There isn't much you can do except "just trust Google". You can query it with them, but they will just respond saying something along the lines of "rest assured, all clicks are being counted correctly".

It could probably be any number of things that caused this to happen. It's possible that it just takes a while for the value of clicks to show up. No one knows.

They do many tests like click validation and stuff, thats how they show so many numbers in our reports. It could be anything, but I think they wont be cheating little publishers, They have got a name, and they cant spoil it like that.

Datacenters also update at different times, this is normal. For example, you might login in the morning and see a super high CTR, because the clicks data has been updated in the datacenters more recently than the impression data. You can also see different stats when you login with IE and with FIrefox at the same time. So it is normal, and is why you should wait until you start seeing stats for the following day before taking that days stats as finalized.

I believe the clicks and earnings are updated differently sometimes. I have seen odd things like this before also. Another thing is that you could be earing on a CPM and CPC basis.

I know clicks and imps update at different time but this is in regards to click only. Click and earnings from that click.

john269: I's not CPM as I checked that too.

Guys I do trust google ... for now ... but it was quite odd to see a click go from 0c to something. This time gap is just strange as you (should) get the particular amount of earnings at the time the click is made, not an hour later.
