Q5: What is the fee for domain name transfer?

A: For organizational domain name applications, a Transfer Fee of HK$700 will be charged, which includes HK$500 Handling Fee and HK$200 Annual Fee (if applicable) (Annual Fee for 1 year=$200, 2 years=$400, 3 years=$500 & 5 years=$800); whereas for individual domain name applications, the Transfer Fee will be HK$650, which includes HK$500 Handling Fee and HK$150 Annual Fee (if applicable) (Annual Fee for 1 year =$150, 2 years=$280, 3 years=$380 & 5 years=$550).

For organizational domain names:

If both Current Registrant (CR) and New Registrant (NR) CAN prove its HK presence: Prepare the Transfer Application Letter duly signed by both CR and NR and printed on the CR's letterhead with the endorsement of both company chops, and then send in the completed application letter along with a copy of the required Document(s) of both CR and NR.

If the CR cannot prove its HK presence or it has ceased the business: Prepare the Transfer Application Letter signed by the NR and printed on the NR's letterhead with the endorsement of its company chop, and then send in the completed application letter along with a copy of document showing that the CR is ceased to exist from The Inland Revenue Department or Company Registry plus a copy of the required Document(s) of the NR.

For Individual domain names:

Prepare the ".idv.hk" Transfer Application Letter duly signed by both CR and NR, and then send in the completed application letter along with a copy of the valid HKID card of both CR and NR. For CR and NR aged between 11-18, please also send in your parents / guardians' duly signed HKID card copies and relationship certificates.
