I wouldn't normally post something like this but it's scaring the hell out of me mentally so I just have to get it out. This saturday, on december 1st, ironically world aids day, I had an intimate encounter with a prostitute. Now I'm very cautious generally about STIs & would never have done this (without testing), but I was very very drunk at the time which lead to this indiscretion. The nature of the encounter was as follows: No intercourse, vaginal or anal. No mouth to mouth contact. No oral sex given or received. (At this point some of you reading may be wondering what the hell happened if there was no intercourse or oral sex but read on) I groped her body parts (not privates however) with my bare hand, licked and sucked on her breasts (but not nipple or areola ) and engaged in mammary intercourse with a condom on. Still a very low risk I would agree, but here's where it gets scary: I have been noticing symptoms, which from what I read seem to be initial symptoms of hiv infection. A sore throat, fever and headache. Also, I just recoverd from extrapulmonary tuberculosis last month so my immune system isn't exactly top notch. I'm very worried that there may have been a cut on her breast that wasn't visible to the naked eye and transmission occurred from there. Steps I've taken so far: Have my blood samples collected for an RNA based HIV test & a cd4 count, and I intend to continue getting tested every 2-3 days for the next 6 weeks so that I am aware at the earliest of any development. I last got tested on November 12th (much before this encounter) and tested negative. My doctor advised me strongly to not take the PEP based on what I described to him, which is pretty much everything. So I just posted this to share the experience and maybe look for some comments and suggestions. Never again! (without testing)
That's probably just a coincidence, it's winter where you live right? So that sore throat and fever it's normal... If you remember all that you probably were not that drunk though. LOL About that testing part, HIV has a so called window period, you can only be sure that you were not infection after 6 month of the "exposure". Don't need to be testing yourself every 2 or 3 days... Best of luck and relax...I'm sure you are ok.
Yes it is winter here in India. The timing is eerie though symptoms started within 24 hours of the incident. I am aware of the window period and although 6 months is the maximum 3-8 weeks seem to be the median. Thanks for the reassurance mate.
HIV symptoms wouldn't start 24hours after exposure, you can be sure of that...No time for the virus to replicate itself...
lol, wtf? So you get her/him tested and wait 24 hours for the results - who knows what they're upto in that time period. Dont you think it'll be highly inconvenient getting a test done everytime you wanna get laid
fucking idiot, if you have no idea what you are talking about, then dont talk, EXE you have to see a DR and get your paranoia treated.
I think you're probably worrying about nothing eXe - it isn't a particularly easy virus to get infected with, even if there was some penetration involved. One thing that strikes me is that if you "last got tested on November 12th (much before this encounter)" it suggests that this has happened before. Perhaps you should think more carefully about your actions - and alcohol intake - in future.
yes, maybe that wasn't clear enough? fucking idiot i have the top STD specialist on my site, that has written papers and advisers the Canadian government on HIV policy. he would laugh at this thread. and call you more that an idiot
So you're saying that it isn't even theoretically possible that a cut on the breast have caused some infected blood to enter my system via my tongue/mouth?
HIV is one of the hardest STD's to get, it can only be transmitted via blood to blood contact, you had a condom on, and you say the symptoms are there after 24 hours? if that was the case, they can test for it within 24 hours, idiot
Theoretically possible, yes. Likely, no chance. The only risk would be if her blood came directly into contact with a cut in your mouth - even then the chances of contracting anything are infinitesimally small. And there's no way you could catch it from ingestion - it would never survive contact with your gastric juices.
you are welcome sweetie, and remember, i am a sexual health advisor, and qualified paediatric nurse, so if you ever need any advice for your little boy symptoms. just ask sammie
just how do they contrast? teens are paediatrics and teens have sexual contact so it is a prefect combo
yea i worked with life limited 2-5 year olds, my problem was my emotional attachment to them, when some failed to make it, i was in bits, so i made a move to sexual health, knowing that that was also a worth while position i could fill, so i started to give sexual health advice to 750,000 US students
