Ok, I don't know the proper terms for everything and I noticed that people use these words differently. Sometimes different words for what seems to be the same meaning.

I am thinking (and how I use it in my site stats)
Hits: Same as Unique. Number of users that get to your website, index page.
Views: I take it as page views which can be compares to how much people surf around your website.
    Uniques: Number of different visitors.
    Visits: Same as Uniques?

What do these world really mean?

hits are the amount of url's "hit"

views are by page, essentially the same as a hit.

unique = unique amount of visitors

    visits: depends on the program

    different programs define them differently.

hits: ignore this. it doesn't matter. it usually means EVERY request made. ie if a page has 30 images and a user requests it, that's 31 hits.
views: usually synonymous with pageviews. again, defined differently with different programs. some are configured to count some files that others aren't.
uniques: sometimes the number of unique IPs, sometimes the number of unique sessions
    visits: number of sessions
