its not only hit also depend up on niche of website too...but in start 400 hits a day can make you some $$ but yes it also depend up on content and site design
The click-rate is very low, so you should have more than 1000 unique hits a day in order to get a small income from adsense.

Hits and income both are hot sure. You can not imagine here how much you earn through a single click. It is different with different types of countries. In some country the rate is highest and on ther side the rate may be slow....
Keep in mind that traffic means profit More visitors on your blog/ site, more chances of earning $$$. But not all niche are the same, it depends on the category of a site, 1000hits per day would be a great start.
