Checked the number of visits by googlebot on one of my sites using awestats. I was surprised to see the results for the current month: 10,360. The site is a forum which is not optimized for spiders Isn't this figure "too high"?
FYI FWIW: According to the "site:" command, there are 418 pages indexed by Google on www.komar.org ... and for the month of August, Googlebot came by 10,661 times (or hits) ... so that's another data pont for 'ya.
I happen to run Analog, but any decent log analysis program should show you this assuming you have access to your web server log files. Just realized I gave you the number from the domain report - i.e. 10,661 hits from IP addresses that resolved to the googlebot.com domain ... whereas the User Agent Report says 10,287 from the Googlebot User Agent - slight difference doesn't bother me - in fact, I thought it would be the other way since some people spoof the User Agent (much harder to spoof IP/resolvable domain).
