Censoring something like Mien Kampf will only cause people to want to read it more, although anyone with any mental constitution or much of an education will view it as the ramblings of an imprisoned racist of the most extreme variety. Watch a documentary on the KK on the history channel and when they do interviews with Klan members you will hear a lot of the same issues being discussed with the same radical solutions. I think people are interested in the book are drawn to it because the author came from basically nothing and took a firm grip of a country and threw it into a war that not only destroyed the country but caused one of the largest genocides in world history. People are interested in how that happened not becoming modern day Nazis or joining the Klan.
I've never claimed it was not popular. You said it was a best seller there. I simply countered that falsehood and apparently you are now agreeing with me, as you've changed from "best seller" to "popular." If anyone is ignoring facts, you are ignoring why it is so popular (and a best seller) in the middle east. It wouldn't have anything to do with killing Jews, would it? I'm flattered that you consider me an islamic scholar. However, the English interpretations are not mine. Credit goes to the islamic scholars who apparently are far more versed in the quran than you are. The translation card fails here. How could it be? The supposed Biblical verse you present merely illustrates an event that occurred in history. There is no instruction within that verse that Christians must take an action for the duration of time. Here's the interesting part. On one hand, you attempt to portray the verse I presented as a mis-translation on m part, even though it's from an islamic scholar. Next, you try to use moral equivalence to dismiss it, by comparing it to something that is uncomparable from the Bible. What does that tell us? Well, it says that on one hand, you want to sweep it under the rug by using the "translation card" to pretend it doesn't say what it actually says. Then, it says, that you accept it as fact and now attempt to compare it to something from the Bible. In fact, the verse I presented instructs muslims to take action. To not befriend Christians and Jews. This, till the end of time. The verse you presented makes no such demand on Christians. In fact, Paul tells Christians that we should reach out to the Jews first. Nothing in the New Testament instructs us to hate others (Christians and Jews) nor does it instruct us to smite off anyone's neck or other body parts. It doesn't demand death, if we decide to no longer believe in Jesus. Food for thought.
Allow me to enlighten you with a few more verses from the Bible (a book of teaching people what to do based on events) Stoning is a Muslim thing...... Another nice one on killing people who don't follow your cause. It is important (though I know it may be hard for some) to understand the Bible teaches people through telling stories or using events as examples. This example above shows if you don't agree with a God then you will be killed.
Interesting when I try to source your claim above: http://www.google.com/search?source...o+death+outside+the+camp."&btnG=Google+Search Once again, there is nothing in the Old or New Testaments that instruct Christians to kill. There were some hard times for specific people in the Old Testament. Describing stories of events is not the same as "slay the idolaters and besiege them where they lie" "smyte off their fingers, chop off their heads, etc." These are specific instructions to muslims and to this day, they are carrying them out. Keep trying.
What you said is that religion is bad. Period. Now you're back-peddling (very poorly I may add), You're trying to convince us all that even though religion is the bane of all humanity you still support the right for people to be a part of what you perceive the very downfall of humanity. That's like saying "I hate black people, they destroy society but you have every right to be black." That's not offensive or stupid at all. You want to ignorantly sum of the problems of the world in one word "religion." As I've pointed out a number of times, that's as tolerant and enlightened as Hitler summing up the problems of his country with one word "Jews." I think you're the tormented one who sees religion as purely a means to try to judge, condemn and control others. That would explain why you think religion is bad. If you were to embrace a religion you'd face the same judgment you ignorantly try to put on others. As it is, you can rest comfortably thinking no one can judge you now. Don't feel bad. You're not the first person to reject religion and develop a bad case of hate for it. Maybe one of these days you'll lighten up a bit. It seems unlikely but you may even one day learn that religion is not a tool to judge others but rather a tool to judge yourself and find comfort. I do have to thank you though, without you and your amazing ability to quote the Bible, I'd never know I wasn't perfect We need more perfect people like yourself judging others to keep them in line. I look forward to the day they don't.
I will not respond to your blather again, Kalvin, except to say that anyone seeing your posts realizes your self-righteous intolerance towards any but your very own extremely flawed misinterpretation of Christ's message. You are intolerance personified. I believe Christ was one of the greatest teachers man has ever had, and you, and people like you, have bastardized his message to your own sick, nefarious and very limited ends. You have baldly tossed out Christ's message - love, agape, selfless love, and redemption - and supplanted it with your own very frail and very limited world view; though your misstatements are legion, most central probably and in your words, Christ's message of love: is "blah blah blah." In doing so, you are the antithesis of a Christian. And as you believe you have the direct and only line to God, you are dangerous. Rail as you will, bait as you will - you do not matter one whit. You join AGS in the league of people, and this is rare for me - for whom I feel nothing but pity. With respect, I make an open invite to any Christian here - of whatever political stripe whatsoever - to submit his or her views on this very off-topic debate. I am sure my views are clear, and would expect that Kalvin's are as well. What constitutes intolerance? What constitutes Christ's message? Edited to say: so that this doesn't veer any more off topic than it already has, I invite anyone interested in this debate to join in on another thread.
What the hell does this mean? The passage he quoted is from Bible and even your Google search shows it. The queen of cheer leaders is making BS excuses again since his A*s is handed to him once again.
Northpointaiki, That has zero to do with anything as I have yet to mention anything about Christ's message. So I have no idea what you're going on about. You see religion merely as a tool to attack others. It is uterally impossible for you to have your views challenged without resorting to personally attacking and judging others based on what you percieve their religion to be. Grow up.
Holy moly! Did I stump gworld with something so seemingly simple? I'd love to boast about it, but since it's just you, it's not much of a victory. Anyone can stump gworld. The good news is, considering the number of results returned, I believe you can actually count that high. Four, is it? Don't need a collage education to count that high!
Huh? I'm sorry - I now realize it must have been your doppelganger who wrote: Of course, your double (are you out there?), also said: So, on the one hand, you condemn churches continuing OT practice, and on the other, you say they are one and the same book, and practices from the OT are quite naturally followed on into the NT. Move over double, do we hear a trippelganger entry? But then, we have more from NotKalvinB/doppelganger to help us understand the one and only way: Man, did I get it wrong. The above declarations of what is, and isn't, Christ's way (constituting only a small portion of his posts) must have been your self-righteous, bigoted, doppelganger, my brother. Because But wait, I thought I wrote this? Why yes, yes I do believe I said: Now I'm truly confused, as I did say the same thing as the Kalvin trippelganger. Will the real KalvinB stand up? Since your only learning appears to have taken place before a mirror, and not a window, I'm sure that's true.
Queen of the cheer leaders is also a moron. Here is a tip from Google to you. Now the first results will be from couple of BIBLE sites. You are such a joke and just think couple of other morons look at you as their queen. Keep clowning since I am still laughing at you.
