    Mein Kampf

    HAS ANYONE READ IT?

I LOOKED INTO THE REVIEW ON AMAZON. IT MAINLY COVERS POLITICS, PROPAGANDA (75-80%) AND ALL OVER OTHER THINGS LIKE PAINTINGS, MOVIES AND ON RACE AND JEWRY.

"He spent time in Vienna, where he began to form opinions on Marxism and Judaism. Long sections follow on Hitler's experiences in World War I, the Jews, and the failures of democracy. German foreign policy, along with its failures, is discussed in detail. Hitler never provides much evidence for his arguments, except for his condemnation of democracy, which is right on the money. Interspersed throughout his long discussions on politics and race are accounts of the rise of the NSDAP, or Nazi party. This is probably the most interesting part of the book, as Hitler outlines the growth of the party up until the Munich putsch."

Reviewers mention he was on the money, when it comes to failure of democracy.

Uh, I read it, about 30 years ago. Yep, democracy blows. Jews suck, and Herr Shickelgruber was a real party animal.

    You a fan?

I am just a fan of History. Sometime history does repeats itself.
You read it 30 years ago...long time. I am just a young man.

I'm a "fan" of history as well - just puzzled - what was "right on the money" about democracy?

Dude, you are aware you are talking not about the latest SEO optimizer, but the founder of the NASDAP, right? You know, extermination of jews, gypsies, homosexuals, political opponents, the enslavement of all slavs, the end of European culture, the death of millions, armed combatants and civilian innocent alike, medical experimentation on human beings, and all the other goodies, right?

No, I meant it :) The name 'Hitler' always inspires a sneer, but a full description of his misdeeds is more likely what a fan of his work needs to read.

I just meant we are of like mind here, PalSys - funny how we both seemed to be pouncing on it at the same time, with our jaws dropped and a big "WTF?"

I'm afraid our OP will read the misdeeds and only be keyed by all they portend.

Uh .... thanks, but I heard Hitler was a one shot wonder. Sure, Mein Kampf was a great read, but his followup, A Bullet in the Mouth was a real downer.

For real reading pleasure, I'd recommend Stalin's Sylvan Snowscapes: Getting the Best from your Siberian Getaway, or Mussolini's Pazzesco! Milan from an Upside-Downer's Perspective. Now these boys could cook.:D

ps: Oh, my god - the reviewer our OP salivates over closes with:

Hahahaha - yeah, ole 'Dolph was kind of a high-strung guy. Otherwise, decent enough for a beer-hang.

Did you know that Hitler wrote a sequel to Mein Kampf that was never published. http://pages.prodigy.net/aesir/hsb.htm It went into extreme detail about what he planned on doing. Many believe that's why it was never published.

Hitler Puttin' it to Paper, January 23, 2002
By Jeffrey Leach (Omaha, NE USA) - See all my reviews
    (TOP 50 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Mein Kampf (Paperback)

"Here it is, straight from the man himself. Called everything from garbage to a Satanic Bible, Mein Kampf is the written words of one of history's most important figures, Adolf Hitler. "My Struggle" was taken down in prison where Hitler was incarcerated for his failed Munich coup in 1923. Hitler waxes philosophical about his early life and aspirations, government, and a new program to lift Germany to dominance. The book is kind of tough to read at times, but other passages are remarkably lucid. This is probably due to the fact that it is a dictated account. There is endless repetition and congealed passages that will make you shake your head in incomprehension. I think the best hope for reading this book is to try and come away with the general themes of what Hitler is trying to say. Try not to get bogged down in the details or you're a goner.

Hitler begins the book by discussing his childhood. His father and him argued incessantly over what career Hitler should pursue. Hitler won by default (his parents died) and chose to pursue his dream of painting. He spent time in Vienna, where he began to form opinions on Marxism and Judaism. This is probably the most interesting part of the book, as Hitler outlines the growth of the party up until the Munich putsch.

I suspect most people will read this book to find out what Hitler says about the Jews. Hitler does discuss the Jews, mainly by outlining how the Jews gain dominance over the gentiles throughout history. Hitler sees Marxism as a Jewish phenomenon designed to enslave the Aryan world. The international financial system is seen as the cause of World War I. This same system is also described as a tool of the Jews. Hitler believed that the Jews sabotaged the German war effort from behind the lines. Jews are referred to as parasites and less than human. In general, most of the book is not about Jews, but concerns politics. The copy I bought was in the history section under Germany/Austria.

At times turgid and fascinating, you'll never forget reading Mein Kampf. I enjoyed this translation. I expected to see some raving monster. Instead, we see a political animal with some intense views. This book is must read for historians and World War II buffs. "

I vaguely remember something about this. The best bio on the man, in my opinion, was John Toland's, and it may have been here that I came across it.

Yeah I read Mein Kampf, because I am German and I we discussed it in history lessons at my school.
It's very propaganda influenced and preaches behavior of unmoral nature.
However, if you are a great fan of History, more specifically German History or Dictatorship it is an interesting read.
I have no idea about the english verison though.

Cupid, I'm sorry - but I'm not sure you're even aware of why some might find this funny, at best, or downright disturbing, more likely.

The timbre of your posts indicates you believe you've come across a new marvel in social thought, whose work is now available on Amazon, and he is worthy of praise, as indicated by one sympathetic reviewer.

THE MAN BROUGHT ON WWII IN EUROPE. HE IS NOT SOME NEWFOUND "WUNDERKIND" ONLY RECENTLY BROUGHT TO LIGHT ON AMAZON.

    -Do you understand?

You're missing the point. Cupid seems to be coming across this as newfound news, on Amazon, and, more, taking this reviewer's opinion that this book actually had some prescriptive merits. Call it morbid fascination, but I'd like to disabuse the poor fellow.
