First of all thank you for your comments and recommendations New Russians that is a category of people in Russia and in all the territory of former Soviet Union. They became rich very quickly making some suspicious (mostly!) business.Very often they don't know the real price for their buyings. They are worried more about their "respect", than about the price of the product. There are a lot of anecdotes about such a category of customers.
So, I am not sure about the translation, but anyway I'll try.. "..Appears a new russian at the cool auto market. And calls the manager: Hey,buddy, I need now 600th "mers". I want it to be pink color with green spots and the saloon should be made from mammoth leather.. Manager answers: " Sure, mister, everything you want...But wait..Have you bought the same car just a month ago?" New Russian:"Right, that was me!" Manager:" But what happened to that car?" New Russian: " Dont you know?! The ash-tray is full already!!"
Exactly. And my question is - Is it an easy task for you to look at things by customer's eyes? Buying something - do you feel yourself a customer or a marketer?
If you are passionate about your market and your product it shouldn't be too hard. On the other hand your passion may blind you to the customers apathy, or ignorance. That's why there are market research companies charging mega-bucks to tell companies what goes on in their customer's minds. It's an impossible question to answer without a specific example.
