Hiring PHP Programmer to write simple php web service

I need a web service written in php to return the max id from a mysql db.

I might need some assistance setting it up on my site if it is difficult.

Connect to db
Run a Select MAX(ID_COLUMN) FROM My_Table
Return value
close connection

Not so interested in cheap. I just want it right the first time.

Hey Guys,

I think that some of you might have misunderstood. I can write php fairly well and can manage the simple SELECT MAX( ) query. I just don't have time to learn how to write a web service in php.

I am populating my php based wallpapers site using a desktop windows app written in vb.net. I need to reference the webservice and get the next wallpaper id. That's all. Then I resize and upload the images to the appropriate folders.

If you can do this for me, please write me.
