Though both statements can be argued to be true, you just don't say that type of stuff IN A PUBLIC FORUM. The OP could have easily started the thread in the services section and got plenty of responses from interested workers. Why on earth would you start a thread like this in this section, knowing that you won't get any proper responses? People are bound to get offended when you ask them, "Indians do xoxo work at xoxo rates?" Instead, just go to the services section and post "I pay xoxo dollars for xoxo work". You'll get tons of responses.
One person posted in the thread that they would do 8 hours work per day for $7. They didn't even want the full $10!

I'm from India! I want to tell something about India here.. India is not a poor country but developing country.(Check top billionaires of the world list) You can expect cheap workers here! But only few cheap workers are legit! Most people work for cheap is because to earn extra money or to do some work temporarily until they get a better day job. The more you pay, the more you get(in terms of quality). But things are changing rapidly. Don't expect cheap Indian labours after 10-15 years! Also I want to mention this here: I used to work with a girl from US. She is rewriting articles for me around $1 per 700 words! Sometimes you will get cheap workers from US too...

There was once a Indian and an Pakistani who lived next door to each other. The Indian owned a hen and each morning would look in his garden and pick up one of his hen's eggs for breakfast. One day he looked into his garden and saw that the hen had laid an egg in the Pakistani's garden. He was about to go next door when he saw the Pakistani pick up the egg. The Indian ran up to the Pakistani and told him that the egg belonged to him because he owned the hen. The Pakistani disagreed because the egg was laid on his property. They argued for a while until finally the Indian said, "In my family we normally solve disputes by the following actions: I kick you in the balls and time how long it takes you to get back up, then you kick me in the balls and time how long it takes for me to get up, who ever gets up quicker wins the egg." The Pakistani agreed to this and so the Indian found his heaviest pair of boots and put them on, he took a few steps back, then ran toward the Pakistani and kicked as hard as he could in the balls. The Pakistani fell to the floor clutching his nuts howling in agony for 30 minutes. Eventually the Pakistani stood up and said, "Now it's my turn to kick you." The Indian said, "Keep the damn egg!"

I've hired Western writers, who are 'cheap' too @ rest of the thread Perhaps the OP was a bit careless in his thoughts but I don't see the need to get worked up over it; if you think he's an idiot, ignore him . There are Indians that work for pennies, but then there are Indian millionaires and Chinese people, Africans, Americans, Europeans and even monkeys that work for cheap. The diverse nature of the world allows that.
Please note, $10/hour in the U.S. cannot be compared to $10/hour in another country. Also, for people new to the Internet, it's just great that they can win money online while sitting in their chairs, when compared to what their fellow classmates or family get for "hard labor". Btw, any sentence that has labor in it has a pejorative sense. It's associated with socialism/communism, labor camps and the labor party. All bad things.
If only the Chinese are proficient in english as the Indians are, they would do the job for half any Indian charges.
