    Hi all!

As you can tell from my lovely little signature, I'm the Technology Editor with www.Suite101.com.

I very recently had to open up our Graphic / Web Design topic again, and I'm looking to fill that position.

    Here are the requirements:

    1. The writer must be well versed in BOTH graphic and Web design. That means you need to be able to write tutorial-style pieces on software ranging from Photoshop to Dreamweaver to Frontpage to basic HTML and CSS, etc. The site will deal with things like color choices, layout (both online and print), design for certain types of publications, and even website reviews.

    2. All writers are required to write a minimum of one article (around 400 words) and one blog post (around 200-250 words) every week.

    3. Writers are required to provide a writer photo, topic site welcome message, and poll on the main page.

    4. Writers will manage the discussion threads on their topic site (removing spam, starting and participating in discussions, moderating, etc.). - Writers are paid for blog and discussion pageviews equally with article pageviews.

    Rights:

    1. The copyright remains with the author.

    2. The writer grants Suite101 exclusive electronic rights for one year and nonexclusive electronic rights after that.

    3. If a writer leaves or their contract is terminated, they will continue to be paid on pageviews to their archived content as long as it is live on the network.

    Compensation

$2 / 1000 pageviews (as Suite101 is working with a very large group of writers, no exceptions will be made - Suite101 will not hire companies to outsource to multiple writers, and they do not purchase articles outright).

To lay things out as plainly as possible... writers who do the bare minimum and don't work to promote their site will take much longer to earn revenues. Those putting in extra effort in the beginning to get significant content posted on their sites are obviously doing better. Those promoting their sites effectively do even better than that (and I work with my group on those issues). For example, those doing the bare minimum might only get a few hundred pageviews their first month (w/ only those 3-4 articles and blog posts made and no promotion). Those promoting have more "luck" - such as the fact that one of my section's writers brought in 20,000 pageviews just yesterday through Digg alone b/c he got a good jump on a piece.

There are several other open sites in the Technology section, including:

    Audio/Video/Imaging
    Blogging/Podcasting
    Tech Jobs/Training
    Computer Accessories
    Computer Networking
    Sports & Custom Cars
    Trucks, Vans, SUVs
    Family / Luxury Cars
    Motorcycles / Off-road
    Classic Cars

Please don't PM me about these positions. Instead, please follow the application instructions at http://www.suite101.com/info.cfm/be_a_suite101_writer.
