Hiring Freelancers Online?

First of - Thanks just for looking at my question.

Dont know if this is the right place to be posting this query? Sort did not really fit into any category.

Q. Besides listing here at DP (buy/sell/trade) where is the best place to look at hiring a IT/Internet related freelancer?

I feel over whelmed when i type the term into ggle search and get millions of results.

What are best sites? Does it cost anything to list my job at the site? Are there any dodgy sites to avoid? How do i pay the freelancer like upfont or after the job etc.

Total newb at the concept.

You guys out there have such incredible knowledge - would save me racing around and doing the research myself.

I know there is getafreelancer but what are the other main ones?

this is the best site. free registration. you have to escrow money as soon as you select the service provider.

as well as free job/gig postings in certain regions

 

you can also try http://backpage.com as well as Google Base

its not as good as craigslist but feel free to try it out

 

getafreelancer and rentacoder are sites where you can find some freelancers alongwith B/S/T of Digitalpoint Forums .

 

i think rentacoder is bit expensive in the pricing side. they are charging 15% per successful freelance job.
i think this is way too high for middle man.

I use scriptlane.com. Try to get programmers in poor countries...they will do almost anything for couple hundred dollars.

A lot of teens there,so the prices are quite cheap.

 

There is always EULancers.
It's new. It's European. It's monitored by humans. It offers 3EUR for signup.

I think it's the right place to start.
