Can anyone tell me the best way to hire a person to be a Forum Moderator and Tech Support Assistant for my Hosting Business.

I am going abroad for two months in August and need someone to take care of the shop while i'm away, but more than likely I will keep someone on after my return.

The Forum will be PHPBB or VB, duties will include answering queries and problems on the forum, answering support tickets ( Hosting Related ) and keeping in regular contact with me while i'm away ( By email ).
Basic knowledge of PHP/MySql/HTML/Linux Servers, PHPBB/VB software would be preferable.

Willing to pay the right person.

Any ideas on how to select someone will be very much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Dalem

The best way will be little tough ask for you as in next couple of hours you will receive tons of suggestions and entries for this job!! You will have to analyze each person and gauge their skills as per your requirements.

This is the only way out. You have already listed what you want in that particular person. Now jump to this section and start a thread requesting details from people about their qualifications.

Wait for some hours and see many (I mean it..many) entries coming in and your inbox getting flooded with PMs.

A couple of ways which you can use to shortlist the candidates are:

-- remove the ones with less than 200 posts.
-- remove the ones with negative iTraders.

that is it. You really will have to do some research to get hold of the right person as you are investing money in this.

Look for experiences in the entries...for how many years they have been using Internet..forums..emails etc..

if they owe websites then it is a add on as you want someone who has hosting related knowledge..

Take some time out and chalk all the details that you are looking for. List them in the section I told you and opt for the best person.

You can always get in touch with me via PM to discuss more on this. I have been blogging for over 20 months and been part of DP for last many months. Plus I do have my own forum too.. :)
