We are hiring for a few new projects we are going to roll out and will post them on here. Each one will be on a per project basis, we have a full time developer in house and not looking for an hourly person at this time. This is probably the most difficult one, but we are looking to create a pixel-less tracking system for our marketing campaigns. Currently, we have to place tracking code on our clients website (different code for different pages) then rely on the publishers (Google, Yahoo, etc) to report the number of conversions that took place. What we are looking for is a solution where we do NOT have to place tracking codes on the persons site, but rather they would click through the link (say through Google) and we would then be able to track certain things that happened from that click, such as if they reached a certain page on the site, etc. Normally we track through a goal that the customer sets up, such as a "thank you" page. Ideally we are looking for a way that we do not have to host the website, such as in an iframe, but rather work off a cookie or some other type of tracking. As well, the ONLY way a "conversion" would take place would be if they came from OUR URL, not just to their website. We are using this to measure statistics from our marketing efforts. Specifically, we would like to setup the ability to track 5 different types of "conversions" such as a "lead," "sale," "view of a page" etc., not just one. To collect the data, we want it store in our database with a time stamp for each "conversion" along with our customer ID that we use to differentiate customers with. Basically, if you are familiar with current conversion tracking (through Google AdWords) we are looking for a solution similar to that, but without having to place code on the customers site. I've seen similar things before, but limited to only tracking a single event, we are looking to track up to 5. Email me with any questions. I will pay via paypal. Based on this info, please give me a ball park estimate ($USD) and time frame for this project.
This will be a very interesting project . Ideally, this should be possible, but there are lots of factors and dependencies. Also I am bit confused about the entire flow of clicks. Would you please clarify that a bit? Cheers, Krish
Hi, I did sent you a pm, but in case the email id in that pm does not work, here's another one: Thanks
After talking this over with my partner and in house developer, we decided that we WILL host the customers website in a frame on our page. This should make development of this a lot easier than not hosting the site. Each customer will have their own subdomain URL on our tracking server, such as customerwebsite.ourtrackingserver.com which will frame customerwebsite.com Hopefully that helps, PM me with questions.
