I want to hire editors for my directory (this is not a job posting thread)

how do you pay editors? would you pay them by number of listings? a flat monthly fee?

    anyone here hiring editors?

I'll prefer to hire someone locally who has good grammar and writing capability. Pay him monthly.. see live what he is doing, explain him what is to be done and research.

Create a backup, build my collection after a good research and then start submission.

Pay would something similar to what they get paid locally in my area. Thus you have safe person to deal with, you are the boss, he works as and how you want. :)

If i was hiring i would pay them per amount dealt with, like paying them for 50 or 100 or whatever.

Also depends if they are editing existing listings, adding brand new content or a bit of both.

I've been wanting to hire editors myself, but don't have an idea of how much is reasonable to pay.

Seems to me the best way to pay would be on a per acceptable listing added basis or a per review basis.

Or you could use the aff program model and make the editors bring in quality sites.

I'd suggest on a flat monthly fee with a minimum target :D That always tends to work out best :)

they have too look for around 50 websites that are pending for submissions, such as the limited quota for free subdomains like blogspot, wordpress etc. least pr sites directories,

    the system goes like

    editor number one

first searches for the site that is pending in google search, what are site backlinks and detect site is basically part of spam or not, like comments on dofollow blogs some sort of spamming. an entire report is made on such sites and forwarded to editor number two and he looks for the titles of the directory and categories if its not according the guidelines he keep on deleting, banning the submissions from that ip.

around 30-50 sites can be checked in this way, and they work 3 hours a day only. the process is very slow but very effective.
i have many directories but only one is highly moderated even though its pr is 0.

I feel this is the best way too. What would you think a good rate would be? $0.50/acceptable listing?
