I've got a problem. I've got a blog that gets a pretty good amount of traffic and is widely known in it's niche. I need to make a jump and I need people to write for the blog. I'm guessing 3 to 5 total new articles per day. The goal here is to monetize things. The hard part is that it's a niche market. The topic is political, but the theme is based on one politician in particular. I've got over 2500 entries right now and there isn't one that isn't about this person. So where in the world would a guy like me go to start looking for people to blog here? I'm willing to pay obviously. My thought is to pay at first, anaylyze the income from advertising later and determine if it's worth continuing. I'll get the traffic that's not a problem. I need to get the content. Any suggestions on where to go here? The subject has plenty of public appearance so it shouldn't be hard to find things to blog about. ANy thoughts?
Is your target audience only interested in reading about the subject, or are they also looking for policy, background, influence etc? It seems to me you could easily write a series of entries on other things and simply let the subject make a figurative cameo entrance into the post to keep your keyword density up.
The niche is quite wide and appealing as well. If I'd been at your place, I might have looked round some political blogs to invite some authority bloggers. Another way is to invite applications here at DP and have a look at their write-ups.
I would recommend checking out jobs dot problogger dot net and making a post there. I have used that in the past, with good results.
Wow, I didn't realize I had no email notification on this thread so I didn't know i had replies. I'm not sure I follow you. As for the target audience, it's mostly conservative republicans that read the site. So there would be interest in other areas but I assumed to get the best results for the site I should focus on one thing and not deviate at all. So I have a small wiki and the news site. I'm not sure how to do anything with keywords other than what i'm doing. Every article in the site without exception is a story about the politician. So there is no variance. I have the person's name twice in the title of the pages:: NAME - News and Wiki - {story title} NAME is that a bad way to title pages? I just have the CMS print the story title in there. Thanks! I looked around there. I didn't see anything on how much paid bloggers get paid. Do you know how much someone should pay for a person blogging? I assume it'd be based per article.
There isn't a definitive answer about how much to pay someone for blogging, as prices vary widely. Some people choose to pay per blog, while others will pay a flat rate per week or per month. Really, it's up to you how you want to set up payment arrangements. Either way it's important to fairly compensate your blogger based on the work they will be doing. Take into consideration the length of the blog posts, how often you expect your blogger to post and how much research is needed.
I second the idea of networking with other blogs with similar topics to find a writer experienced in your field. You can always hire a generic writer, but someone who already knows your guy inside and out would make for better reading. Expect to pay at least $0.06 per word (Probably more) for quality material regardless of whether you pay weekly or per article.
internetauthor that is exactly what I was hoping for. A baseline rate I could work from. That makes sense. It seems a little high though. correct me if I'm wrong but that means I'd be paying around 30 bucks for a 500 word article? Am i calculating that wrong?
Yup.. dats 30 bucks per article.. Quite expensive eh? I wonder if there is a much cheaper alternative to hire blogger... Cheers! Sha
Yeah definitely too high for me. I'd be much better off spending that kind of money on advertising and getting the 10+ articles per day that I've got from my contributors more exposure. Wow, I didn't expect that much. spending 9 grand a month to double my article count is incredible
Yeah.. we're in the same boat I guess. I'm actually hoping (If I'm really really lucky) to hire a blogger in any 3rd world country to do around $2.50 per 150-250 words of article.. That maybe not much here but I think its worth a lot to them.. Not to say that we do not appreciate their work, its just that we cant afford to pay that much since we ourselves are not making that much.. rite? Cheers! Sha
I'll supply you with anti-Bush/war/imperial exploitation articles for $10/piece...just because it's the right thing to do. But somehow I suspect that's not exactly what your looking for.
By the way, let me clarify that. It's not a site supporting bush, it's a site that is anti-hillary clinton.
Freelance Writing Jobs regularly posts blogs that pay $200 a month for a post a day, or thirty posts a month- these jobs are usually popular. I've also seen jobs that pay $112.5 a month that are popular too. Online Writing Jobs (board) is your friend, go and post your specifications there and you'll get plenty of replies
It is possible to find someone for less. Of course, some writers are also willing to lower their rates for long term work or for something they enjoy. The hardest part will be finding a Republican on these boards! LOL There are a few of us hiding out. There is a conservative blog network, though...I'll have to look around and see if I can find you the bloggers, if you're interested.
It's also a good way to get higher PR and increased visibility within that ideological spectrum of the blogosphere.
Sorry to sound ignorant but i'm not sure what your response, or the one you're quoting means. Could you explain?
