Looking for the freelancer sites people are still using..

    Which are the popular ones

getafreelancer and scriptlancer are like ghost towns

Could someone suggest couple sites that people have had good luck with

Best place would be DP! Those sites you've listed is if you're really interested in outsourcing. Are you looking for low price of high quality?

    Also: you can try craigslist

I have always had good results when using elance.

Every time I use rentacoder or scriptlance, the articles always have issues. Bad grammar, long delays and even some are simply copy and pasted.

elance seems to be a bit more pricey on average, but you get much better quality articles.

I personally hate freelance sites, loads of people bidding like weirds. Like,

    First Bid: 100$, 5 days
    Second Bid: $50, 2 days.

Anyone can get confuse with it. As 8everything, best place to hire freelancers. You can get many talented designers and developers here on very reasonable rates.

I agree. I hate those sites too, I never seem to get any good stuff done with them. It's seems harder to communicate with those guys (not just because a lot of them don't speak english)

Thank you everyone it is all sorted now. wanted to have a captcha splash page built to install on my proxies.

I do remember all the off the low bid offers with non english speaking people on the freelance sites. Reminds me of calling dell tech support....

Thank you again... Never thought to ask here on DP and it worked out.

If I was to hire one I would like to just go in a forum cause I don't really like the formality of posting a job vacancy and that just for a small job.

I use guru.com and rentacoder.com. I've had great success with who I've found. I found a freelancer that is building me (from scratch) a flash online business card generator (I sell business cards online). I had bids as high as $15,000 and as low as $200.00.

I fear that, giving some stranger all your info. At least with the websites, they have feedback and the money goes in escrow.
